Biography

Kurar is born in 1983.

Lives and works in Clermont-Ferrand, France.

At the beginning of his career, Kurar used spray paint and explored volume and color. His work and technique evolved through travel and experience. He familiarized himself with the techniques of graffiti vandalism and collage before devoting himself exclusively to stenciling and, more recently, to “studio” painting.

Through his work, he shares his uncertainties and questions, unfiltered but always with a sense of humor. The image of childhood, symbol of innocence, enables him to approach with lightness the subjects of war, religion and consumer society. He enjoys dealing with contemporary themes, and encourages viewers to take a step back from their perception of society, as well as the abuses of a system that neglects emotions and encourages individualism.
